Body Coiling, Performance 2016
Body Coiling is an ongoing work created through slow craft and household textile reuse. Fabrics carrying personal and cultural histories are deconstructed, braided, and hand-sewn into an endless cyclical form. Translating the labour and function of rugs onto the human body, the work reimagines identity and corporality, transforming a colonial settlement artifact into a living, mutable object that complicates notions of agency.
